Head Coach / Manager

John King took over as Head Coach of the Medford Mustangs in 2024, continuing the program's tradition of excellence. As a second-year manager, King has guided the team with a focus on fundamentals, player development, and competitive excellence.
King previously served as an assistant coach under legendary manager Nate Mayben, learning from one of the most successful coaches in Oregon American Legion history. His coaching philosophy emphasizes hard work, teamwork, and preparing players for the next level.
Under King's leadership, the Mustangs continue to compete for state championships while developing players for collegiate and professional baseball.
Assistant Coach

Johnny King serves as an Assistant Coach for the Medford Mustangs, bringing valuable experience and knowledge to the program. A former Mustangs player himself (North Medford High School, Class of 2023), Johnny understands the tradition and expectations of Mustangs baseball.
His firsthand experience as a player in the program gives him unique insight into player development and the Mustangs way of doing things.

Kevin Shafer serves as an Assistant Coach for the Medford Mustangs, contributing to the development of players and the success of the program. His dedication to the team and knowledge of the game make him a valuable member of the coaching staff.
Pitching Coach

Brett Wolfe serves as the Pitching Coach for the Medford Mustangs, working with the pitching staff to develop arms and game strategy. His expertise in pitching mechanics and development has helped produce dominant pitching staffs that are a hallmark of Mustangs baseball.
The Mustangs have consistently posted low team ERAs under Wolfe's guidance, with multiple pitchers advancing to collegiate programs.
The Medford Mustangs have a rich coaching history that includes legendary figures who built the program into Oregon's most successful American Legion baseball team.
